Prado slumping
The Palms have been pleasantly surprised by Martin Prado this season, and responded by making him the team's lead off hitter. Unfortunately, things have taken a frustrating turn for Prado this month. Among several players who have slowed down at the plate in August, Prado has been the most notable. After making the All Star team and hitting in the .340s, through the season, his .235 average in the month of August has been a col dose of reality.
With Prado slumping, the Palms could be looking to replace him at the top of the order. Randy Winn would be a logical fit, however the power he has shown compels Miami to keep him deeper in the lineup. Troy Tulowitzki has been slumping as well. The most logical options would be to replace Ryan Henning at 2nd and move Jaspero Gonzalez at the top, or move Frank Sohn, the speedy right fielder who is hitting .308. For the time being, however, the Palms will continue to keep the status quo.
