First Base: Edwin Encarnacion
Edwin Encarnacion was brought aboard to bolster the middle of the Miami lineup, and he has certainly done just that. He’s been good for at least 30 homers in his last couple of seasons, including one year with 40. Now with John Jaso in Texas, Encarnacion will be able to move to a designated hitter role in 2018 to ensure that his bat is the primary focus, rather than his less than inspiring glove work.
