The light hitting Travis Jankowski will provide excellent defense to replace the retiring Coco Crisp. Jankowski will likely cycle in and out of the lineup, with Brock Holt taking some playing time as well. Jankowski is regarded as a top defender and has the ability to play center or the corners, but is expected to slot in at the end of the lineup.

The Palms didn't tinker too much with their position players, adding only one new face. Brock Holt was a glue guy, an energy player for division rivals the Boston Red Sox. Miami clearly hopes for the same from Holt, who will range through the infield and outfield, taking many different roles in relief. Last season, he played 5 positions, providing a great deal of value in his versatility, if not his bat.
