Palms 2, Tigers 1

The Palms had two extra base hits and managed to leverage both of them. Palms 9, Tigers 2

Miami and Detroit played a taut game until the 9th inning, when the Palms sent nine to the plate and capitalized, with a 3 run Billy Dupont home run. Tigers 7, Palms 4

The Palms jumped out to an early lead thanks in no small part to John Jaso's 30th home run of the season. Unfortunately for Miami, the Tigers had a big inning in them, plating 7 two out runs in the bottom half of the 4th. Blue Jays 9, Palms 6

Each team batted around in the 4th inning, but Toronto was able to score an extra run that inning, thanks two three home runs in a row from the bottom and top of their order, including light hitting Ben Revere. Miami's weekend got off to a good beginning thanks in part to a good outing from Tony Abreu. He had three hits, all for extra bases, including what would ultimately be the game winning blast. It was a well pitched game Friday night, save for one rough inning from Marcus Stroman. The Palms batted around, but scored 2 of their three runs with the first two batters, when Billy Dupont led off with a double, annd was driven in with a Joe Mather home run. Miami jumped on Marco Estrada early, scoring two runs in the first, allowing Manny Parra to take over. Palms 7, Twins 4

The Palms claimed the final game of the series and of the season against Minnesota thanks in large part to the bat of Chris Korb. Korb hit two solo home runs among his 3 hits, driving in a run with each of them. Palms 8, Twins 7 (17 innings)

The Palms and Twins played their longest game of the season, and one of the longest in Miami history. Miami took the lead in the bottom of the 8th thanks to an enormous Billy Dupont home run, but Eddie Rosario tied it in the top fo the second with a clutch single. Byron Buxton netted an RBI double in the top of the 12th to put Minnesota ahead. The Palms answered in the bottom of the frame with a two out Frank Sohn double. Sohn was on second basee with Billy Dupont on third again in the 17th when Kelly Johnson blooped a single to right. It was the same set up as the 12th, but this time. Erik Bedard plans to retire

Erik Bedard hasn't performed like he would have hoped in 2015, and he attributes that to his age. Because of his decline in production and a desire to spend more time with his family, Bedard has informed the Palms that he doesn't plan to return in 2016

Twins 7, Palms 6

As the trend continues, only the road team has won a game in this series. On Monday night, the Twins overcame a 5 run 2nd inning from Miami, in which they batted around an had 4 hits and three walks, as pitcher Tyler Duffy came into his own. Rays 5, Palms 3 (10 innings)

For the third time in this series, the Palms and Rays went to extra frames. It didn't look like that was how it would end, when Miami led with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, but the Rays came through with a 2 out rally, capped by an RBI single from Richie Schaffer. The Palms and the Rays have played 24 innings in 2 games, and the team that tied the game to bring it to extras ended up the team that lost. The Palms were down by 3 leading into the 9th inning, but an RBI double, followed by a 2 run, Kelly Johnson home run, his second of the day, brought the score level. Palms 7, Rays 5 14 innings

The Palms and Rays played late into Friday night after Tampa tied the game in the bottom of the 8th on a Richie Schaffer home run. Oliver Perez went 6 solid innings, but allowed the homer to Schaffer in relief.
