Palms 6, Padres 5 (10 innings)

This is not going to be a game that the bullpens for either team will want to remember. The starters weren't very impressive either. Dinelson Lamet was knocked out after 3 innings, and Dylan Bundy gave up three solo home runs in the first two innings. The Padres then got 4 solid innings of relief, allowing the Padres to tie the game in the 8th, then take the lead in the top of the 9th. Edwin Encarnacion subsequently tied the game back up in the bottom of the 9th with an RBI single off of Kirby Yates. Craig Stammen came on in relief in the 10th and promptly loaded the bases. After striking out Yairo Munoz, Stammen issued a bases loaded, walk off walk to Yasmani Grandal. Palms 1, Padres 0

The Palms have now gone two games in a row without allowing a run. Fortunately, as they've also only managed to scrape three runs across in the combined games. Manny Parra threw 8 shut out innings, and Chris Martin worked a clean 9th to shut San Diego down, while an RBI single from Jaspero Gonzalez provided the only run Miami would need.   Miami Palms 1, San Diego Padres 0  Thursday, September 5, 2019      San Diego Padres (0-1)                                   Miami Palms (71-71)                                       Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave    ...

Palms 2, Diamondbacks 0

Fans that showed up on Wednesday evening at Palms Park were assured plenty of time to get home as Jarod Lantz and Zach Gallen pitched an efficient game marked only by 9 hits between the two teams. The Palms hit 5, and that extra hit was Frank Sohn's 2 run blast in the third inning. Miami will conclude their interleague schedule with a 4 game set against the Padres starting on Thursday.   Miami Palms 2, Arizona Diamondbacks 0  Wednesday, September 4, 2019      Arizona Diamondbacks (1-2)                               Miami Palms (70-71)                                       Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A...

Palms 6, Diamondbacks 3

Extra base hits were freely found this afternoon in Miami. The Palms hit three home runs, and more impressively, three triples in their victory over Arizona. More impressively, Yasmani Grandal had two triples, and Edwin Encarnacion had the third. Blake Johnston allowed a run in the first inning, but then was solid, and nearly pitched a complete game before Carson Kelly hit a two run home run. Fortunately, the Palms had two of those themselves, and won comfortably.  Miami Palms 6, Arizona Diamondbacks 3  Tuesday, September 3, 2019      Arizona Diamondbacks (1-1)                               Miami Palms (69-71)                                       Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player...

DIamondbacks 6, Palms 2

The Palms bats were quiet in the series operner with Arizona, but the D'Backs feasted on relief pitching. It was 2-2 heading into he the 8th when Arizona strung together 5 hits to score for the first time since the first inning, and overtake the hosts. The Snakes added one more to add a little bit more space in the 9th.  Arizona Diamondbacks 6, Miami Palms 2  Monday, September 2, 2019      Arizona Diamondbacks (1-0)                               Miami Palms (68-71)                                       Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave        ------  ...

Palms 6, Phillies 4

Miami completed a sweep in their return home, securing a victory on a sweltering Sunday afternoon. The Palms jumped out to the early advantage after a long homer from Chris Korb and a three run shot from Yasmani Grandal. Dylan Bundy pitched effectively until the 7th, when Philadelphia attempted to mount a comeback, culminating with a three run JT Realmuto homer. The Palms bullpen finished things off after that, and the Palms hung on for victory.  Miami Palms 6, Philadelphia Phillies 4  Sunday, September 1, 2019      Philadelphia Phillies (1-5)                              Miami Palms (68-70)                                       Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player      ...

Palms 4, Phillies 2

Jean Segura started the game by hitting a home run, but the Phillies struggled to do much at the plate after that. They were only able to get 1 more hit until the 8th inning, when Philadelphia was finally able to string together the hits for another run. Manny Parra struck out 5 in his 8 innings of work. Meanwhile, Miami had 4 doubles and a triple to piece together their 4 runs. Pat Grant had a double and the triple to lead the offense.   Miami Palms 4, Philadelphia Phillies 2  Saturday, August 31, 2019      Philadelphia Phillies (1-4)                              Miami Palms (67-70)                                       Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player        ...

Unusual homestand ahead

Miami returns home after four series on the road to square off with three opponents from the National League. They get a rematch against the Phillies first, after winning the set in Philly, as well as the first game in Miami. They will follow up with games against NL West opponents, the Diamondbacks and Padres. After this set of exotic opponents, Miami is going to see a lot more familiarity in their foes. Only one of the series (Cleveland) is played outside of the AL East.

Palms 8, Phillies 5

On a damp night in Miami, the Palms started their homecoming rather noisily. Edwin Encarnacion hit a three run homer in the first inning, a lead the Palms kept until the 7th, when Scott Kingery's 2 run blast tied the game. Miami was not willing to go quietly into the night, however, and were able to send 10 to the plate. Encarnacion got the go ahead RBI on a bases loaded walk, while Chris Korb and Jaspero Gonzalez drove in three more. Miami surely appreciated those runs as the bullpen made the final two frames a bit of an adventure.   Miami Palms 8, Philadelphia Phillies 5  Friday, August 30, 2019      Philadelphia Phillies (1-3)                              Miami Palms (66-70)                                       Player          AB R  H BI BB SO...
