Center Field: Coco Crisp

Coco Crisp might be  little bit older than most players that would typically play in center field, but he has the history there, and certainly has the offensive ability and has been around since 2009. He was the best offensive player by many measures for the Palms in 2014. He hit .310 with 30 home runs and 33 doubles. He also had 97 runs batted in, which is tough to do near the top of the order. The Palms would love it if Crisp could match his season from last year, but suspect they will only get a fraction of that. That should be just fine, though, with a well stocked offense supporting him.

Outfield: Gregor Blanco

Speedy Gregor Blanco remains a top option for a team hoping for the most from 4th outfielder. He is not only an excellent defender, but he also contributes on offense. He was a .282 hitter last year, and contributed enough extra base hits that his SLG was .410. The Palms will likely try to get him more action in 2015, though he may not get as muc has he likes, given the sturdy options already out there.

Starting pitcher: Erik Bedard

The Palms had a need to restock their pitching staff, and sought at least one veteran to replace Troy Munoz. They added Erik Bedard, who had played with the Tampa Bay Rays last year, as well as spending time with the Orioles, Mariners, Pirates and Astros at various points in his career. He's not the pitcher he was with the Orioles, but he does have a track record of generating poor contact, though he is no longer much of a strikeout pitcher and has never been a master of the strike zone. He can help churn through innings at the back of the rotation, and the Palms won't miss Munoz much at all.
