Red Sox 5, Palms 4

The Palms had the Red Sox down late in the game. In fact, with one out left in the top of the 9th and a 1 run lead, Francisco Rodriguez was looking to secure a save. He had already walked Dustin Pedroia, but it was David Ortiz who finished the job, hitting the game winning home run. Koji Uehara was much more effective for the Red Sox.  Boston Red Sox 5, Miami Palms 4  Sunday, May 31, 2015  Boston Red Sox (6-7)                                     Miami Palms (27-23)                                      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB...

Red Sox 7, Palms 5

John Danks and Wade Miley pitched 5 scoreless inning, but the last 4 frames were an adventure. Danks loaded the bases in the top of the 6th with one out, and the Palms pulled him in favor of Keith Harding, who immediately allowed Brock Holt to crush a grand slam, giving Boston a 5-0 lead at that point. The Red Sox were eventually able to score two more, but the Palms made a valiant 9th inning comeback which included home runs from Chris Korb and Frank Sohn, but ultimately fell short.  Boston Red Sox 7, Miami Palms 5  Saturday, May 30, 2015  Boston Red Sox (5-7)                                     Miami Palms (27-22)                              ...

Red Sox 8, Palms 4

Miami's crumbling rotation continued to crumble in a return home to face the Red Sox. Erik Bedard allowed Mike Napoli to drive in 4 tuns, including 2 on a home run, as well as an addtional run. Boston got to the bullpen as well, scoring 2 in the 8th.  Boston Red Sox 8, Miami Palms 4  Friday, May 29, 2015  Boston Red Sox (4-7)                                     Miami Palms (27-21)                                      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player     ...

Palms 5, Orioles 3 (Game 1)

The Palms returned to Baltimore to play a double header for games missed amid civil turmoil at the beginning of the month, and they had both a strong outing from Manny Parra and a persistent offense. They had 13 hits, including a 2 run triple in the 2nd from Trevor Plouffe. Parra didn't allow a hit until the 5th inning in a stellar 7 inning performance.  Miami Palms 5, Baltimore Orioles 3  Thursday, May 28, 2015  Miami Palms (26-20)                                      Baltimore Orioles (1-1)                                  Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A ...

Palms 5, Blue Jays 1

The Palms salvaged a game in Toronto with a dominant pitching performance from Blake Johnston, who pitched a complete game, scattering 7 hits and striking out 5. The Palms had the biggest hit of the day, a 2 run homer from Carlos Ruiz in the 4th inning.  Miami Palms 5, Toronto Blue Jays 1  Wednesday, May 27, 2015  Miami Palms (25-20)                                      Toronto Blue Jays (5-2)                                  Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player       ...

Blue Jays 16, Palms 2

It appears as if the magical start to John Danks season is over. It ended in the 2nd inning in Toronto, when the Blue Jays scored 8 times. They went on to score 8 additional runs and generally skunk the Palms all around.  Toronto Blue Jays 16, Miami Palms 2  Tuesday, May 26, 2015  Miami Palms (24-20)                                      Toronto Blue Jays (5-1)                                  Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO...

Blue Jays 11, Palms 3

Miami seemed to be in great shape with a hot start that included home runs from Billy Dupont and Tony Abreu, but Toronto just needed to be awakened. They batted around in the 4th, and nearly did again in the 8th. Toronto laid into every pitcher they faced, scoring at least one run against him, including an Edwin Encarnacion grand slam in the 8th off of Cody Allen,  Toronto Blue Jays 11, Miami Palms 3  Monday, May 25, 2015  Miami Palms (24-19)                                      Toronto Blue Jays (4-1)                                  Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P...

Red Sox 5, Palms 3

The Red Sox only needed one inning of offense, and that prroved enough. They sent 11 to the plate in the 5th, and scored every last one of their runs in that inning. Miami collected home runs from Trevor Plouffe and Kelly Johnson, but the cavalcade of walks and hits in the 5th did the trick for Boston.  Boston Red Sox 5, Miami Palms 3  Sunday, May 24, 2015  Miami Palms (24-18)                                      Boston Red Sox (3-7)                                     Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave   ...

Red Sox 3, Palms 2

The Palms and Red Sox had solid pitching performances, with each Manny Parra and Steven Wright allowing a 2 run home run to Rusney Castillo and Coco Crisp respectively. Manny Parra was going to pitch the 9th, the inning he dominated the last several years, however Hanley Ramirez led wih a walk off winner of a home run.  Boston Red Sox 3, Miami Palms 2  Saturday, May 23, 2015  Miami Palms (24-17)                                      Boston Red Sox (2-7)                                     Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave...

Palms 5, Red Sox 3

The Palms were vastly in control through the first 8 innings of this game, thanks in large part to a 4th inning in which the team batted around and scored 4 runs, including 2 on a Brett Hayes double. They score got a little tight when, after 8 innings of shut out ball, Blake Johnston walked a batter, allowed a single and then a Xander Bogaerts home run. Francisco Rodriguez came in to shut the Sox down for the rest of the inning.  Miami Palms 5, Boston Red Sox 3  Friday, May 22, 2015  Miami Palms (24-16)                                      Boston Red Sox (1-7)                                     Player ...

Palms 9, Red Sox 5

The Red Sox posted Clay Buchholz to a 5-0 lead after the first inning. John Danks settled down, and allowed no more runs, but only made it through 3 1/3rd innings. The Palms got started in the 2nd, and simply bled the Red Sox, scoring in 6 of the remaining 8 innings. Brett Hayes, Billy Dupont and John Jaso all collected three RBI. Jaso really stood out, going 4-5 with two doubles and a triple.  Miami Palms 9, Boston Red Sox 6  Thursday, May 21, 2015  Miami Palms (23-16)                                      Boston Red Sox (1-6)                                     Player       ...

White Sox 8, Palms 1

Erik Bedard was hit early and often. The White Sox scored all 8 of their runs off of Bedard through his 5 innings of work. The successes the White Sox had were readily distributed throughout the roster, with 3 players hitting doubles and 7 different Sox collecting an RBI. Carlos Rodon held Miami to 9 hits through 8 innings, striking out 6.  Chicago White Sox 8, Miami Palms 1  Tuesday, May 19, 2015  Chicago White Sox (2-3)                                  Miami Palms (22-16)                                      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB ...
