Catcher: Brett Hayes
The Palms have relied on a rotation of veteran catchers for several years now, with Brett Hayes and Carlos Ruiz maintaining roster spots. It seems as though whoever is playing in the back up role on a given season will be the one that has the strongest year offensively, and that was the case in 2017. Brett Hayes had an excellent offensive year, though it relied heavily on a high batting average on balls in play, strange for a veteran catcher. This is likely Hayes’ last year in the league, but he will be effective right up until the end
