Second base, Jaspero Gonzalez

Jaspero Gonzales, known as Jazz by many Miami fans, left the Palms after the 2012 season in a move that brought Carlos Ruiz to Miami. This was after a .321 season with 30 home runs as a second baseman. The Palms were below .500 that year, and the acquision of Ruiz bolstered not only the catcher position, but also helped the rotation reach greatly improved heights. Still, having a second baseman that can produce in the middle of the lineup is a definite boon. There is considerable hope that he will step right back into the order, batting 3rd, and rake as he did before he left. The team won 87 games last year, and the hope is the team will get better with addition, rather than subtraction.
