It's not over but....

The Palms are having a pretty good season, and they would be competitive in many divisions. In fact, they are one of the 5 best teams in the league this season, but unfortunately, two of the best teams in the American League are in their own division, and two of the other best teams are in the AL West, meaning the Palms are sitting on the outside looking in for the Wild Card, despite being better than the Cleveland Indians in the Central. The Palms sit 6 games out of the final wild card spot, and the less said the better with regards to the AL East Crown. IT is clearly coming time to start making plans for the offseason, which will be quite a period of transition.

Palms 6, Orioles 4

The Orioles batted around in the first inning, scoring 3 times and hoping to spoil Miami's return to Palms Park. The Palms would wait until late to really get moving, though. They scored 4 times between the 7th and 8th inning, and leaning on Mike Morin's strong 3 innings of relief to register the series opening win.  Miami Palms 6, Baltimoe Orioles 4  Monday, September 10, 2018      Baltimoe Orioles (6-6)                                   Miami Palms (81-62)                                      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB ...

Blue Jays 8, Palms 1

The Blue Jays put the Palms behind the 8 ball early, when Lourdes Gurriel hit a 2 run home run in the first inning. Thomas Pannone had the best outing of his career, stymieing the Palms, though Blake Johnston recuperated to be effective enough to last through 6 innings. The Blue Jays loaded the bases in the 7th, though, with Kevin Pillar hitting a grand slam, the death knell for the Palms hopes of winning the game.  Toronto Blue Jays 8, Miami Palms 1  Sunday, September 9, 2018      Miami Palms (80-62)                                      Toronto Blue Jays (5-8)                                  Player   ...

Palms 9, Blue Jays 2

The game started fairly close, with the Blue Jays maintaining a 2-1 lead until the 5th, when Travis Jankowski put Miami in front with a 3 run home run. The game was put to bed when Brett Hayes followed up with a grand slam 2 innings later, giving Miami a comfortable victory, even as Pat Grant and Edwin Encarnacion got an evening off.  Miami Palms 9, Toronto Blue Jays 2  Saturday, September 8, 2018      Miami Palms (80-61)                                      Toronto Blue Jays (4-8)                                  Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E...

Palms 5, Blue Jays 3

Each team had two home runs in this game, but Miami included a 3 run blast from Pat Grant to space themselves from Toronto, and they also earned an 8 inning work of art from Dylan Bundy, who scattered 3 hits and 1 run on Friday evening.  Miami Palms 5, Toronto Blue Jays 3  Friday, September 7, 2018      Miami Palms (79-61)                                      Toronto Blue Jays (4-7)                                  Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player       ...

Palms 4. Mariners 0

Three games and three shutouts, but fortunately for Miami, the final shut out was of the Mariners. This might have been the best pitching performance of the bunch, as Manny Parra scattered 7 hits while striking out 11 Mariners. The Palms will get a day off before they cross into Canada on Friday.  Miami Palms 4, Seattle Mariners 0  Wednesday, September 5, 2018      Seattle Mariners (2-4)                                   Miami Palms (78-61)                                      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave  ...

Mariners 5, Palms 0

Wade Leblanc has now pitched 18 scoreless innings aginast the Palms in two outings. He held a 2-0 lead for much of the game, but a 3 run blast from Ryon Healey in the 8th inning really opened things up, and gave a perfect symmetry to the series so far.  Seattle Mariners 5, Miami Palms 0  Tuesday, September 4, 2018      Seattle Mariners (2-3)                                   Miami Palms (77-61)                                      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E LOB   Ave      Player   ...

Palms 5. Mariners 0

The Palms jumped pout to an early lead on the Mariners, and their starting pitching was able to lean on the Mariners to keep the game out of reach. The Palms jumped to an early lead thanks to a two run single from Brett Hayes, and were supported by battery mate Jarod Lantz's 5 hit shut out to win game one of their series in Miami.  Miami Palms 5, Seattle Mariners 0  Monday, September 3, 2018      Seattle Mariners (1-3)                                   Miami Palms (77-60)                                      Player          AB R  H BI BB SO  P  A  E ...

Palms 8, Blue Jays 4

The Palms finally broke out against the Toronto Blue Jays, slapping 15 hits against rookie Sean Reid-Foley and the Toronto bullpen. The Palms collected a couple of home runs from Edwin Encarnacion and Tony Abreu, but it was Chris Korb and his three hits that drove in three of his teammates. The Palms received 3 scoreless innings of relief to tie up the victory for Lucas Harrell  Miami Palms 8, Toronto Blue Jays 4  Sunday, September 2, 2018      Toronto Blue Jays (4-6)                                  Miami Palms (76-60)                                      Player          AB...
