Miami couldn't secure their first home sweep of the season, struggling to find offense against Max Scherzer. They still managed to have a 2-1 lead after a big 5th inning, but Ramon Santiago hit the go ahead 2 run homer for the Tigers from the bottom of the lineup in the 6th inning. The Tigers feasted on the Palms' bullpen, scoring 4 more off Don Schoppe and Dennis Sarfate, including a home run from former Palm Gerald Laird.
