Palms 5, Rangers 4
Things always seem to get contentious when the Palms face the Rangers. Early on, Palms pitcher Javier Vazquez plunked Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler. A few innings later, Rangers pitcher Tommy Hunter drilled the Palms 2b Paul Janish. Had Janish not been a new entry into this series, it very likely could have been the third year in a row the Palms and Rangers had their benches clear. It really is an unusual rivalry, given how little the teams play. The game itself was not without fireworks, as Chris Davis hit a grand slam for the Rangers, accounting for all their runs. The Palms fought back, however, scoring on an RBI single from Eddie Black in the 8th. The winning run? Paul Janish.
