Palms 14, Tigers 3

Pity Andy Oliver. The Tigers young rookie faced a buzzsaw as the Palms were destined, once again, to climb back to .500. In the process, several amazing things happened. First and most obviously from the scoreboard: The Palms hit EIGHT home runs, including two from Martin Prado and Coco Crisp, and one from Jaspero Gonzalez and Omir Santos, neither of whom had homered since May. Second, the Palms brought their team batting average up to .308, higher than the '27 Yankees, and threatening the .312 of the '21 Tigers. Third, Billy Dupont took a walk, only his 4th on the year. For reference, Frank Sohn has as many triples as Dupont does walks, and Coco Crisp has TWICE AS MANY triples as Dupont does walks. Javier Vazquez left in the fifth with elbow tightness, and will be evaluated.
