Three Palms on the All Star Team
Going into the season, I think most would have expected Eddie Black to make this year's All Star Game, and he did, excelling at the plate, with a .337 average and 16 home runs. The break out stars for the team, however, have been Frank Sohn, who has almost as many home runs and RBI through half a season as he did all last season with 13 and 58, respectively. The last new all star is filling in admirably for the recently departed Troy Tulowitzki. Jaspero Gonzalez has taken over at short and is hitting .321 with 11 home runs, and has earned himself a spot on the American League All Star team The game will be next Tuesday, and the rest of the roster will have a three day break before getting back to the grind.
Ryan Henning, Ayoz Sadan and Troy Munoz are the other Palms that have made an All Star Game.
