Palms fielding calls on some players

The Miami Palms are 13 games out with the trade deadline coming up tomorrow. The Palms certainly don't expect to be major sellers, as they feel they are a few pieces short of contention next year, but they are receiving calls on a few players.
Teams looking for pitchers are calling on Javier Vazquez, though the Palms aren't looking to send him packing, what with pitching being the squad's primary weakness. Additionally, a few calls, primarily from AL West teams have been fielded regarding the availability of Randy Winn and Coco Crisp who seem to be much more likely to be dealt, though the Palms will wait for the right deal.

Verdugo, Red Sox Pummel Palms in Series Opener

Alex Verdugo went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, and the Red Sox racked up 16 hits en route to a 7-1 win over the Miami Palms at Coca-Cola Palms Park. The loss snapped Miami’s four-game win streak and featured a forgettable debut for newly called-up reliever Allan Persons, who gave up three runs on five hits in a single inning of work. Boston wasted no time, tagging Palms starter Blake Johnston for three runs in the opening frame, thanks to a pair of RBI hits from Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland.
