Palms 7, Cubs 1

The Cubs started interleague play with a bang Friday night as they welcomed the Cubs to Miami. Javier Vazquez had another stellar outing, pitching the complete game and allowing only one run on a solo homer from Xavier Nady in the 9th. The Palms had two homers, however, in Eddie Black's 9th of the season in the second inning, and the big shot of the game, a 6th inning grand slam from Jaspero Gonzalez. The Palms needed little else to earn the first win of the Interleague season. Former Palm Rico Gomez went 0-4 in his return to Miami.
