Designated Hitter: Randy Winn

Randy Winn isn't the prototypical designated hitter. He is to fleet of foot to fill that role on most teams, and he was never considered a power hitter. Last year, however, he had career highs in home runs and batting average, hitting .327 with 22 homers. In the first month of 2010, however, his numbers are back down to about where they would be expected, especially if one considers that Winn is likely on the downside of his career. Still, the Palms will continue to trot him out there as a stabilizing veteran presence in the order.
