Palms coming on strong

Miami has done an excellent job in the last 5 games since their surprising sweep at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles. They came back and swept the Royals and took a 3 game set against the Yankees. They are now 5 games above .500, but are still 11 games out in the AL East. In their briefly successful spurt, they have received excellent pitching and some offense from surprising sources.
While first baseman Billy Dupont doesn't have any home runs this month, backup catcher Omir Santos has three, including 2 game winning grand slams. Jaspero Gonzalez and Martin Prado have a pair of home runs, while team leaders Eddie Black and Frank Sohn only have 1 apiece. There is still a month and a half left on the season, and the Palms can certainly play spoiler with the rest of the race, if not make a bid for a spot in the postseason.
