Palms 9, Reds 5

The Palms made their first ever trip to Cincinnati on Friday to begin a weekend series with the Reds. They were happy the trip was a short one from Milwaukee after finishing that series with a 14 game loss at the hands of the Brewers. This game looked as though it might go into extra frames as well as the Reds scored two in the 8th to bring the game even at 5. In the top of the 9th, however, the first five batters reached, including a three run homer from Eddie Black, followed by a triple from Frank Sohn and an RBI single off the bat of Randy Winn. Continuing his win poaching ways, Felix Gonsales earned the victory for Miami, his 6th on the year.
