Blue Jays Cruise Past Palms as Miami Loses Bundy to IL
MIAMI — There was little drama in this one, and even less momentum for the home club.
The Toronto Blue Jays jumped ahead early and never really let go Tuesday night, handing the Miami Palms an 8–3 loss at Coca-Cola Palms Park in a game that felt decided well before the final innings.
Toronto did its damage with the long ball and timely extra-base hits, tagging Dylan Bundy for four runs in four innings. Solo home runs by Randal Grichuk and Rowdy Telez highlighted a four-run fourth inning that pushed the Blue Jays firmly in control.
Miami managed just six hits on the night and never mounted sustained pressure against Toronto starter Chase Anderson, who worked eight efficient innings. The Palms’ offense briefly stirred in the fourth, when Brock Holt doubled home two runs and Greg Garcia followed with a sacrifice fly, but that was as close as it would get.
From there, Toronto’s lineup continued to tack on runs against the bullpen, with homers from Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. keeping the margin comfortable.
Bundy took the loss, falling to 2–7 on the season, and the night ended on a more concerning note after the final out. The Palms announced that Bundy had been placed on the 15-day injured list, a move that will sideline the veteran right-hander for at least two weeks.
To fill the rotation spot, Miami recalled Brian Kragh from Triple-A Jackson, adding a fresh arm as the club looks to stabilize a staff that has shouldered a heavy workload of late.
The Palms fell to 36–32 with the loss, still very much in the mix but eager to shake off a flat performance as the series with Toronto continues.
