Palms 9, Blue Jays 5
The Palms saw TJ McFarland get knocked out after 4 innings, including a 3rd where the Blue Jays batted around, but McFarland was removed because of a high pitch count. He only allowed 3 runs, which kept Miami in the contest, and in fact, the Palms had the lead at his departure. The game was tied in the 6th when Michael Saunders hit a solo home run and it remained that way until the 9th, when the Palms laid into Drew Storen, batting around and scoring 5 times to take the led and break the game wide open, all in one fell swoop. As a curiosity, Nick Markakis accounted for all 3 outs, striking out and grounding into a double play in his second at bat. That said, Markakis was very good for the first 8 innings, driving in 2 and hitting his first home run of the game. He also had 7 putouts in field, leading the team.
