Palms 7, Indians 6 (10 innings)

The Palms had a 2-1 lead leading up to the 5th inning, before the Indians scored 4 times, with three times, with Asdrubal Cabrera's home run accounting for 3 of the runs. The Palms went to work on coming back on Justin Masterson and his bullpen. Miami loaded the bases in the 6th and zth, but it was groundouts that led to two runs, and Frank Sohn was the only one to drive in a run with a hit (he had a 2 run homer earlier in the game). The Indians scored again in the 8th, and again, Miami used the same bases loaded fielder's choice strategy to tie the game back up, when Nick Markakis was credited with the RBI. In the bottom of the 10th, however, Tony Abreu didn't dilly dally, hitting a lead off solo, walk off home run.

Verdugo, Red Sox Pummel Palms in Series Opener

By Vin Castillo, Coca-Cola Palms Park  MIAMI — The Palms got a dose of reality Monday night, and it came in the form of a relentless Boston lineup and an untimely outburst from their veteran catcher. Alex Verdugo went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, and the Red Sox racked up 16 hits en route to a 7-1 win over the Miami Palms at Coca-Cola Palms Park. The loss snapped Miami’s four-game win streak and featured a forgettable debut for newly called-up reliever Allan Persons, who gave up three runs on five hits in a single inning of work. Boston wasted no time, tagging Palms starter Blake Johnston for three runs in the opening frame, thanks to a pair of RBI hits from Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland. Johnston lasted just three innings, surrendering four earned runs, and took his second loss of the season.
