May MVP: Kelly Johnson

Kelly Johnson was added as the new second baseman for the Palms. He wasn't expected to dominate in the same way as last year's second baseman, Jaspero Gonzalez did, but he managed to put together a monster month of May, and tended to do his best when the game was on the line. Johnson hit .306 with 8 home runs in May, driving in 20 runs despite hitting in the 9th spot most of the season. He has moved up to 3rd in the order on days where Carlos Ruiz has the day off, but he is still clearly more comfortable in the 9th spot.
He has slowed down in June, and unfortunately so too have the Palms. He and the Palms look to turn things around on Monday night against the Giants.
