Palms 11, Royals 3
The Palms finished off their winningest season on record, backed by one of the greatest offensive performances in baseball history (for the season, though their 18 hit, 11 run performance in the finale wasn't bad). Blake Johnston nabbed his 17th win, and Carlos Ruiz homered and drove in 5. Ruiz's was the final home run of the season, while Frank Sohn had the final runs batted in and put out, Billy Dupont had the final hit, Kelly Johnson had the final at bat and Tim Byrdak through the final pitch, to Billy Butler. The Royals should be commended for continuing to fight, getting three baserunners and scoring a run with 2 outs in the 9th with a huge deficit in what ended up being a lost season.
The Palms will now face the winner of the Indians and Red Sox game Wednesday evening. They have announced that Troy Munoz will move to the bullpen for the series, with a rotation of Kyle Blume, Lucas Harrell, Blake Johnston and Don Schoppe slotted to start.
