Rangers 7, Palms 2

The pitching faltered in the series opener in Texas on Memorial Day. The Rangers scored three in the first, including a two run homer in from Daniel Murphy, the game's second batter, which was enough for the defending champs and Derek Holland, who stifled Palms bats.
