September and Season MVP

Jaspero Gonzalez continued his late season tear for the Palms, hitting 7 more home runs since the end of August, buoying the team as they tried to finish the season strong. He has been the driving force on offense as players like Eddie Black and Frank Sohn fell off. '
The season MVP was one of the most consistent influences for the course of the season. While Eddie Black started strong and Jaspero Gonzalez finished strong, Martin Prado was a force for the entire season. He was constantly on base early, but late in the season he developed a power stroke, and now has 20 home runs. His was a reliable bat as well, often ensuring that runs were scored or at the very least, nobody was left on base. Martin Prado is the Palms, season MVP!

Verdugo, Red Sox Pummel Palms in Series Opener

Alex Verdugo went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, and the Red Sox racked up 16 hits en route to a 7-1 win over the Miami Palms at Coca-Cola Palms Park. The loss snapped Miami’s four-game win streak and featured a forgettable debut for newly called-up reliever Allan Persons, who gave up three runs on five hits in a single inning of work. Boston wasted no time, tagging Palms starter Blake Johnston for three runs in the opening frame, thanks to a pair of RBI hits from Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland. Johnston lasted just three innings, surrendering four earned runs, and took his second loss of the season.
