Garcia getting the call

The Palms have been giving rests to a lot of their infielders while at home during this recent nine game stretch, but one player not given a rest is utility man Greg Garcia. He’s been in the lineup for the past 5 games, now, including the series opener with the Mariners. It is a testament to his versatility, certainly. He’s played in three different spots in this stretch.

Garcia is definitely not called upon for his offensive prowess. He is good at drawing walks, but his average is languishing in the .125 range. Of course, that is 25 points higher than when this week started. Garcia and the Palms are looking to jump start his bat while also saving Brock Holt for the outfield, and letting Matt Koch acclimate to life in the majors, while he too has stumbled a bit in his debut
