Palms in a fight for the postseason
The AL East has been extremely talented this season. They sit at 75-58, which isn't a bad record, however they are in 3rd place in the division and 18 games out of the first place Boston Red Sox. They likely won't claim 2nd either, as they are 8.5 games behind the 2nd place Yankees. Their best chance at the playoffs, then, is the 2nd wild card spot, but even there, the road is uphill, as they are 4 games out from the Oakland Athletics, even though Miami has swept the season series with the A's.
With one month left in the season, the Palms have their work cut out for them. The A's are catchable, but even if Miami surpasses them, they will be faced with a tough test in New York, and a likely series with Boston if they get there. They will need to be at their best for the last month.
