Players return from All Star Break
The Palms are having a pretty good season thus far, even as they are overshadowed by a couple of teams in their own division. Their recent playoff success raised their profile enough that 3 players were able to reach the All Star Game, Tony Abreu, Pat Grant and Brett Hayes, who are all having dominant seasons at the plate, and are each in their own right contending for the batting title. Hayes, despite a slow start, maintains the inside track.
Two pitchers, Lucas Harrell and Manny Parra, were also selected, however a virus swept through the Palms dugout just before the All Star break, which knocked Parra out, and Harrell had to work on short rest with Parra (and Jarod Lantz) out of commission, taking him out of contention for appearing in the game as well
