Starting Pitcher: Blake Johnston
Blake Johnston has been a workhorse for the Palms. While his numbers have been generally unimpressive as a starter, much of that has been attributable to his inability to pitch to his peripherals. Because his stuff had been OK, he has pitched for over 200 innings in 3 seasons as a starter, and was only a third of an inning short in 2016. Johnston gave up too many long balls in 2016, and was less reliable than the Palms had become accustomed to. If he wants to regain a spot towards the top of the rotation, he will need to return to the things that made him successful earlier in his career.
