Palms in for a fight
After starting the season with a record 10 games above .500, the Palms have likely played their way out of contention. The American League is filled with teams that are above .500, thanks to the dregs of the league being significantly below sea level. As a result, despite being two games above .500, Miami sits in 4th place in the American League East, and 8.5 games out from the Toronto Blue Jays. The chances at a wild card spot are a little better, given that they are only 4 games out of the second spot there, but they also need to contend with nearly the entire American League, who also find themselves in contention. Things would have been a lot easier without their mid-season swoon!
