Palms 10, Athletics 7
The Palms finally had a decent pitching outing, but the work the relief has endured in their 4 game set against Oakland was evident. Tim Byrdak came in the 7th when Lucas Harrell ran into some problems, and allowed 2 inherited runners to score. He then allowed the A's to score their 7th run in the 8th inning, but despite his struggles, there was nobody fresh enough to take Byrdak's spot in the 9th. The A's 'pen had problems of their own. Billy Dupont tied the game again at 6 with a mammoth upper deck homer off of Ryan Cook. In the bottom of the 9th, Steve Drysdale broke the 7-7 tie by hitting a home run of his own. Grant Balfour started the inning with a 1 run lead, but was unable to retire a batter as the Palms walked off winners of a series split.
