Palms value from unuusual places
The top players in the every day roster, by a standpoint of OPS comes from three positions that often don't provide value. First is from the 4th outfielder Frank Sohn, who can play any position in the outfield, as well as hitting out of the designated hitter spot. His versatility adds value to his bat (which has knocked out 23 HR's, leading the team). The next player is all star second baseman Jaspero Gonzalez. Gonzalez has the highest batting average on the team among qualified hitters at .335. Last is the guys behind the plate. Both Omir Santos and Jose Molina are hitting over .300 with a combined 29 home runs.
The rest of the team, especially on offense, is pretty good, but the Palms are in playoff contention because they are finding value in unexpected places.
