The offseason begins with a look at the free agents

The Palms have three unrestricted free agents, two of whom were key players this season. First baseman Billy Dupont, short stop Troy Tulowitzki and utility infielder Breck Smythe will all be free agents. Dupont was in his first year as a starter, moving from the outfield to first base. Troy Tulowitzki was brought in for one year from Colorado, but the emergence of Jaspero Gonzalez and still relative inexpense of Ryan Henning meant they can spend money elsewhere. Breck Smythe, after a fast start, broke down late in the season.
Players with options were back up catcher Omir Santos and spare outfielder Steve Drysdale. With so much turnover in the past few seasons, expect the Palms to excersize the option on Santos. Drysdale exceeded expectations this past year in limited time. Expect his option to be picked up as well.
