 The beginning of an important home stand against three beatable teams has started by dropping a 4 game set to the Royals. Brad Keller had a good game, working 7 innings and allowing 5 hits and striking out 5. The Royals two runs came from back to back homers by Cheslor Cuthbert and Hunter Dozier, while Miami paired doubles from Chris Korb and Pat Grant to get on the board. The game wasn't as close as the final score made it seem, as Erick Fedde needed three double plays to wiggle out of jams.

Verdugo, Red Sox Pummel Palms in Series Opener

Alex Verdugo went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, and the Red Sox racked up 16 hits en route to a 7-1 win over the Miami Palms at Coca-Cola Palms Park. The loss snapped Miami’s four-game win streak and featured a forgettable debut for newly called-up reliever Allan Persons, who gave up three runs on five hits in a single inning of work. Boston wasted no time, tagging Palms starter Blake Johnston for three runs in the opening frame, thanks to a pair of RBI hits from Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland.
