 Not only are the Palms on a bit of a streak, but they have also gone 6 of their last 7 allowing 2 runs or fewer. The Rays were only able to plate two runs, and one of those was a solo homer early on from Brandon Lowe. Miami scored one run, three innings in a row, including a solo homer from Yairo Munoz, who would also get one of the teams' other RBI. The climb back to .500 continues, and they only have one more game to go.

Verdugo, Red Sox Pummel Palms in Series Opener

Alex Verdugo went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, and the Red Sox racked up 16 hits en route to a 7-1 win over the Miami Palms at Coca-Cola Palms Park. The loss snapped Miami’s four-game win streak and featured a forgettable debut for newly called-up reliever Allan Persons, who gave up three runs on five hits in a single inning of work. Boston wasted no time, tagging Palms starter Blake Johnston for three runs in the opening frame, thanks to a pair of RBI hits from Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland.
