 On a Wednesday afternoon, many players were given the afternoon off, and that had a significant impact on the offense. Jonathan Loaisiga pitched a "Maddux", a shut out with fewer than 100 pitches, while allowing only 6 hits and striking out 7. The game was close until the 8th, but the Yankees hit two home runs, a solo shot from Mike Tauchmann and a three run shot from Gary Sanchez to double the lead. Miami hopes their sluggish start is shaken as they welcome the Angels to Palms Park tomorrow.
