Off day comes at the right time
The Palms are coming off a 4 game sweep at the hands of the Atlanta Braves, which was preceded by dropping a series in Boston and getting swept by the Mets before that. They’ve been unable to take a break before today. Perhaps the issues are unrelated to rest, but certainly a bit of time to get their heads right will be greatly appreciated by the woebegone team.
Returning from a day off, they will be at home with the top of their rotation ready to battle. Edwin Encarnacion hasn't had the start that he would hope for so far this season, but returning from Atlanta, he will be a regular part of the lineup again as well.
Either the Palms starters need to return to the dominant form of the beginning of the year, or they will need some increased offensive production. The return to Miami and the day off to get there will both help everyone get their heads screwed on straight.
