When he was acquired, Cody Allen seemed like the perfect compliment to a dominant closer. He had closed in Cleveland and moved to a set up role with his new club. It hasn’t gone entirely well for Allen, and he is not likely to catch sight of the closers role anytime in the near future. Of course, there isn’t a particularly strong candidate to move into that role in the bullpen as it stands.
