Palms acquire TJ McFarland

The Palms have made a move at the Winter Meetings with a trade with a division rival. They have acquired big lefty TJ McFarland from Baltimore. He was a highly effective reliever with the Orioles, but his big frame and propensity for home run suppression appealed to the Palms, who intend to use him as a starter. McFarland, it appears, will slot in as a 3rd starter.
McFarland has a 3.58 ERA out of the bullpen in his short career. The Palms will hope that McFarland's bullpen performance of last season (a 2.79 ERA) can translate to the rotation in 2014.
