Mariners 7, Palms 0
Don Schoppe didn't do a terrible job on the hill for the Palms, but the Mariners had the lead from the 6th pitch, when Brad Miller hit a full count pitch out of the park. The 1-0 lead was all the Mariners needed, and through 8 innings, they only scored 2 more. The Mariners sunk their teeth into Ivan Fernandez, scoring 4 runs, including a 3 run homer for rookie Mike Zunino. Joe Saunders and his 2 hit shutout through 8 was the star performance for the night, however.
